MINI Cooper Repair & Service in Madison, MS

MINI shares its DNA with BMW — and that means it shares BMW-level service requirements. The N12, N14, N16, N18, B38, B46, and B48 engines all have known timing-chain, turbocharger, and cooling-system service intervals that demand real attention. Madison Motor Werks treats every MINI Cooper, Clubman, Countryman, and JCW we work on with the same factory-level care we bring to BMW. We use BMW ISTA software for MINI diagnostics and coding, stock OEM and OE-spec parts from the same suppliers MINI uses on the assembly line, and have ASE-certified technicians who know exactly when timing-chain tensioners should be addressed and which clutch is the right part for a JCW. Madison, Gluckstadt, and Ridgeland MINI owners get dealer-level expertise without the dealer experience — and our 3-Year / 36,000-Mile nationwide warranty.

MINI Service FAQs

N14 and N18 engines have a timing chain tensioner that can fail around 60,000 to 100,000 miles. The warning sign is a rattle at cold start. Caught early, it is a routine service — ignored, the chain skips and the engine can be damaged. We inspect every MINI we service for tensioner wear.
Every 7,500 miles for full synthetic oil and filter, with brake fluid every 2 years and transmission fluid every 50,000 to 60,000 miles. We follow the factory schedule with the correct LL-01 or LL-04 oils.
Yes — JCW models and JB4 / Stage 1 tunes are in our regular mix. We use the right clutch, the right oils, and the right service intervals for higher-output engines.
Some MINI engines burn oil between changes — usually a sign of worn valve-stem seals or piston rings. We diagnose with leak-down and compression tests before recommending repair, and we always check the PCV system first since a bad valve is often the simple cause.
